Hello World

Is this thing on? Hey, I'm Jordan, a software engineer focused on building systems that scale, interfaces that feel good, and software that solves real problems. I care about clear user interfaces, solid engineering, and all the small details that make software feel great to use.

Ever since I can remember, I've been drawn to technology and some of my happiest places have always been behind a screen of some kind. (see the image below) I'm forever grateful to my parents for always keeping the latest and greatest tech around for me to tinker with and explore my curiosities. I even built my very own website at ~8 years old.

Before transitioning into software engineering, I was a professional DJ. Music is still a huge part of my life, and many of my earliest projects were inspired by it. I still enjoy being the DJ when I get the chance.

The programming skills I picked up initially for fun and personal use years before, ended up shaping my entire workflow. I built tools that made my performances smoother and my life easier.

I built Sway and it changed my life. It's a live song request management platform with Spotify integration, that bridges the gap between crowds and DJs by combining song requests, live upvoting, and event analytics into a seamless real-time experience. Giving guests a real voice and myself an elegant workflow completely transformed my sets.

I also wrote many useful tools like folder and file cleaning scripts, custom Python web scrapers to curate trendy setlists, and a command line video-to-mp3 tool that ended up saving me ~40 hours a month. You can check out more of my work here.

• I've seen Interstellar 59 times and counting (best movie ever made)
• I've successfully mixed Beethoven, George Michael and Travis Scott
• I bowled my first 300 game at 11 years old
